This is Dottie, January 14, 2015.

We are so happy to announce that Dottie has been adopted
and is now being loved and spoiled in her new home.

This was Dottie when O.S.C.A.R. rescued her on April 16, 2014.

Only 8 months old, this gentle puppy was used as a bait dog.

April 16, 2014: Dottie was found alone on the streets of Paterson, NJ. She is extremely thin, has multiple bite marks over her entire body, and her one ear is badly bitten and torn. Her injuries are so severe she has had emergency surgery to try and repair all the damage that’s been done to her. We’re hoping they can save her ear.

Dottie is young, only 7-8 months old, and is very sweet and timid. Just the kind of qualities the loathsome, ungodly dog fighter looks for in a bait dog. But despite what they've done to her, we all know animals are resilient creatures. Dottie’s wounds will heal and she will go on to have the life she was always meant to have and the life she always deserved.

Our vet expects Dottie to be released from their care soon. We are praying that she will find someone who will adopt her and take her into their home where she can begin to receive the TLC she desperately needs. A loving home where she can be properly spoiled the rest of her life.

April 19 - Dottie Update: Dottie is doing better! She has been resting comfortably and continues to be treated for pain and is still receiving strong antibiotics to ward off infection. So far so good. The amazing thing is that Dottie continues to be in such good spirits.

Here she is taking a peak at the world outside. The world can be a scary place for a small, little girl like Dottie, but we think she can feel all the love and prayers being sent her way and that is what keeps her so positive. So please continue to keep her in your thoughts and prayers.

May 2 - Dottie Update: On Wednesday, we were so happy to report that Dottie wasfeeling good and enjoying her foster home.

Unfortunately, on Thursday, we got the news that Dottie has to return to the vet.

May 3 - Dottie is not doing well...

From Facebook: "Dottie was admitted back to the vet today with fever, diarrhea and vomiting. She's on an IV for hydration and getting antibiotics. We knew Dottie's journey was going to be a long one, but we're still saddened and disappointed by this setback. The vet will call us tomorrow with an update. Please keep Dottie in your prayers. Thank you. O.S.C.A.R."

May 9 - Dottie Update:

We are so happy to share the good news about Dottie. After many ups and downs over the last few weeks, Dottie is now back at her foster home.

Here she is, chilling and enjoying life. We are all so happy for you, Dottie!

"Dottie continues to be in great spirits. She loves being with people and does fine with her foster family's fur sisters. Her foster family told us that last night during dinner Dottie climbed up and sat in a chair at the table. She then asked someone to pass the pork chops. Okay. We made that last part up. But she is definitely a people person and, when the time comes, will settle right in at her forever home. They also tell us she takes her medicine without complaint and is just an awesome little girl. When you meet her, be ready to fall in love and expect lots of kisses. You've been warned. O.S.C.A.R. ***A special page has been created on our website to tell Dottie's story and accept donations toward her vet care. Every bit helps."
